Marketing Manager, Commercial Observer

Commercial Observer has an exciting opportunity for a Marketing Manager to join their growing marketing team. Reporting directly to the Marketing Director, this individual will be responsible for the formulation and implementation of marketing strategy across multiple areas of the business, including over 15 live events across the country, interactive virtual webinars and corporate membership marketing.

We are looking for a true team player with a mind for strategy who is excited by innovations in digital marketing. The successful candidate is a skilled writer, out-of-the-box thinker, and has had hands-on experience executing multi-channel marketing plans.


  •  Formulate and execute multi-channel marketing strategy to achieve event and subscription revenue goals, leveraging email, social, print, web, and select paid channels where appropriate
  • Manage and track marketing budget and ROI
  • Develop, test and optimize messages and campaigns across all channels, and evolve plans based on results and changing needs of the business
  • Develop compelling and timely copy for marketing promotions
  • Collaborate with design team on the creative development of marketing collateral
  • Partner with CRM Database Manager to define and expand target audiences
  • Analyze marketing data (conversion rates, traffic, open rates, click rates, etc.)  to optimize marketing tactics and fine tune marketing strategies
  • Conduct market and competitive research
  • Negotiate and manage media partnerships for select industry events
  • Other duties as assigned


  • BS/MS degree in marketing or business-related field
  • 5-7 years experience in marketing, with direct experience in event promotion and/or B2B environment
  • Strong copywriting talent with ability to show writing samples
  • Direct experience developing multi-touch customer journeys and persona marketing
  • Solid understanding of design best practices
  • Basic HTML experience


  •  Comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Superior project and time management skills
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work with others at different levels in the organization


  •  Knowledge of the real estate industry
  • Previous experience with subscription/membership marketing
  • Direct experience with SailThru, Pardot, Marketo, Silverpop, Eloqua or another marketing automation platform
