James Karklins, President, Observer Media
James Karklins is current President of Observer Media Group. James joins the company with extensive senior-level marketing and executive experience, having held several senior leadership positions with leading companies around the world.
Prior to joining Observer Media, James served as Global Chief Marketing Officer of Newsweek where he launched new events aimed at diversifying revenue and building a strong platform for growth. Prior to this, Karklins was the Vice President of Regional Marketing at Gartner, the world's leading technology and research advisory firm, with annual revenues exceeding $4B. There, he ran events marketing and audience development, driving delegate revenue to Gartner’s Worldwide Events business – one of its fastest-growing business units.
Karklins was also the Vice President of Demand Generation and Audience Marketing at SourceMedia, where he launched new revenue streams, and enhanced the company’s online and digital marketing capabilities for clients by building a robust lead generation business. He is originally from Australia.
Dan Entin, VP Product, Observer Media
As the VP of Product for Observer Media Dan Entin oversees product, design and technology for the company, as well as manages its audience database and ad operations. Entin is responsible for growing the product team and managing Observer Media's expanding suite of products. He has more than 14 years of experience managing product development and strategy in leading media and content brands.
Prior to joining Observer Media, Dan was a VP of Product at Gartner with responsibility for building Peer Insights, a new platform for ratings and reviews of IT software by and for technology professionals, which was one of the fastest growing business units in the company. Dan has also held product management leadership roles at Google, Zagat and About.com where he took several new digital products to market.

Max Gross, Editor-in-Chief, Commercial Observer
Max Gross is the editor-in-chief of Commercial Observer; before coming to Observer Media he spent a decade as a reporter for The New York Post, and is the author of the book From Schlub to Stud: How To Embrace Your Inner Mensch and Conquer the Big City.
Gross grew up in Brooklyn and lives on the Upper West Side with his wife and son.
Lauren Bell, Marketing Director, Commercial Observer
Lauren joined Observer Media in May 2015 as Marketing Director for Commercial Observer. In this role, she is responsible for the marketing, communications and business development efforts for the publication. Lauren manages and oversees the marketing strategy for a portfolio of over 15 live events, as well as brand positioning, custom research, native video content and strategic industry partnerships.
Prior to joining Observer Media, Lauren held multiple marketing positions with Crain Communications. During her tenure, she was responsible for overall brand marketing, the expansion of Crain's native advertising product line and the marketing strategy for its events.
Lauren graduated from the University of Connecticut with a B.A. in communications.
Sheetal Christian, Manager of Finance and HR
Sheetal Christian is the Manager of Finance, Accounting and HR at Observer Media. With over 12 years of accounting/finance experience Sheetal handles all aspects of the accounting function including AR/AP, Payroll, General Ledger, Financial Statements and also serves as the internal HR representative.
She is also an Essential Oil enthusiast who not only loves to use them but also share them with others.
